Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses the softest of hand pressures to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head.
This very gentle and safe approach is especially suitable for soothing and relaxing babies and young children. It can also be calming for the rapidly-developing bodies of children of all ages.
For mums-to-be, cranial osteopathy can help both during pregnancy and after birth. Changes such as the softening of ligaments, weight increase and changes in posture, both during pregnancy and then whilst carrying and feeding, can lead to additional stresses and strains on the joints and muscles, possibly causing aches or pains.
Cranial osteopathy is also eminently suitable for any adult who requires a very gentle, relaxing and balancing form of treatment.
At Wadebridge Osteopaths, cranial osteopathy is offered by Juliet Stokoe.
We are also lucky enough to be able to offer Cranio-Sacral Therapy, which has a very similar treatment approach to cranial osteopathy but is conducted by a therapist who is not a registered osteopath.
