Jo Bhatti

Cranio-sacral Therapist

Jo originally trained as a dancer at the Rambert School until age 20 when a back injury forced her to look at an alternative career path.  She and her family moved to Cornwall in 2007 and it was here that Jo discovered Craniosacral Therapy (CST) as a way of treating her dance injuries and supporting her general wellbeing.  She had treatment during and after her pregnancies and her children have all benefitted from treatment, particularly as babies.

Having experienced the changes that CST could bring about, Jo was inspired to do the Upledger CST training to support others with this gentle yet deeply healing work.  After 7 years of training she qualified with the Upledger Institute in 2022.

Craniosacral therapy is a subtle bodywork that can create dynamic improvements in your life.  Developed by John Upledger (an Osteopath who wanted to work more lightly on the body) it can help to relieve deeply-held tensions in the body by working with your central nervous system.  The craniosacral system has a direct impact on the central nervous system, being made up of the bones, soft tissue and fluid that surrounds and nurtures your brain and spinal cord.  Jo works directly with this system, listening to your body tissues and supporting your body in its own healing and self-correction.

Jo is trained in specific mouthwork techniques which clients have reported can be useful in helping with TMJ problems or easing discomfort after dental work.  Mouthwork is practised wearing vinyl gloves and using a very delicate touch.  Many CST practitioners and clients have noticed that working with the small bones and tissues inside the mouth can often bring about profound change across the body.
