Clinical hypnotherapy

Life can be challenging and stressful at times. We may find ourselves coping in ways that are not healthy for us. Clinical Hypnotherapy – also known as Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy – can be an effective way of helping you make positive changes in your life.

A typical treatment begins with the practitioner using a series of skilful questions to help induce a state of positive thinking. Once this has been achieved, hypnotic “trance” is used to encourage a state of Rapid Eye Movement (REM), just as is experienced in light sleep. It is in this state that the brain is able to rid itself of unwanted or unhelpful behaviours and conditions.

These behaviours and conditions might include: stress, phobias, fears, panic attacks, lack of confidence, depression, anxiety, anger, weight control, exam nerves, insomnia, IBS, migraines, nail biting, nightmares, obsessions, chronic pain, sports performance and addictions, including stopping smoking, and many more.

To find out whether Clinical Hypnotherapy might be suitable for you, our hypnotherapist offers a free initial consultation. After that, sessions are typically one hour long. The number of sessions needed will vary, depending upon the issue and the individual. This will all be discussed with you during your initial consultation.

The “Stopping Smoking” session is a single session lasting two hours.

Clinical Hypnotherapy at Wadebridge Osteopaths is offered by Cara Ball.
